DMV/VERIFI Tip of the Week, #67
Using the Exceptions Log Feature in VERIFI
“Quick Log” will be disabled effective 7/8/19. Quick Log was intended to expedite logging of used secure paper MV-50s, however, some dealers used it as a “workaround” for processing problematic transactions. Because there will undoubtedly always be problematic transactions, an Exceptions Log process has been added to VERIFI.
After 7/8/19, if a dealer is having difficulty processing a transaction in VERIFI they must call the VERIFI Help Desk for approval to access the Exceptions Log. Exceptions Log will only be available for a limited number of situations (see below), for a single transaction at a time and for a limited time to allow the dealer to account for the used secure paper MV-50. Exceptions Log will include a text field dealers must use to explain why the transaction was an exception.
Situations where access to Exception Log is appropriate:
o No Registration Record found
o Multiple Registration records found
o Duplicate VIN error
o Unable to issue new plates or a plate in the correct sequence
o Unable to add VIN to BOR – Invalid title, Transferable Registration
o Government plates (PSD type of plates) – No expiration dates
o Unique characters in fields like Names that VERIFI/DMV systems reject
o If the dealer needs to issue a new paper MV-50 to make corrections to a previously processed transfer, basically a replacement/corrected paper MV-50
