How does VERIFI keep track of plates? Does it affect transporter plates?

For Dealer Plate Logs: Dealers that issue plates will order them the way they do currently, but the plate log will now be maintained in VERIFI. The Dealer will receive boxes of plates and confirm receipt of each plate and report any missing/damaged plates through VERIFI. When the dealer issues a plate for a sale, the system will automatically assign one from the VERIFI plate log. VERIFI will prompt the Dealer to attest to the following:

“Pursuant to DMV Commissioner’s Regulations section 78.18, I attest that the customer never took possession of the vehicle and has effectively cancelled the sale.” before the plates can be returned to the plate inventory. 

VERIFI doesn’t affect transporter plates. Test drives are not considered sales.
