Will VERIFI allow Dealers to re-issue plates from a cancelled transaction

Dealers that cancel an eMV-50 can re-use the plates if the vehicle purchaser never took possession of the vehicle.   Upon cancellation of the sale, the plates will be returned to their inventory. 

VERIFI will prompt the Dealer to attest to the following: “Pursuant to DMV Commissioner’s Regulations section 78.18, I attest that the customer never took possession of the vehicle and has effectively cancelled the sale.” before the plates can be returned to the plate inventory. 

The plate will be added back into Plate Inventory and will be the next available plate for assignment.
