What to do if you can’t complete a Transfer in VERIFI due to an outage
Dealers may experience intermittent outages due to various causes, such as power outages, network outages, or DMV network outages, that prevent them from using VERIFI.
Dealers that cannot complete a transfer in VERIFI due to causes mentioned above may use secure paper MV-50s to record vehicle sales. However, the secure paper MV-50s have to be logged in VERIFI with the reason – “Internet Outage”, as required by Commissioner’s Regulations and the VERIFI facility participation agreement.
NYS DMV encourages documentation of any outages via a screenshot or other record, and promptly contacting the VERIFI Help Desk at 1-833-VERIFI-NY upon encountering any VERIFI accessibility issues.
